Poker hands 10-6.

10. High Card
Five unrelated cards which do not form any of the hands below. The highest card is then declared, so, A-10-9-4-3 is called “ace high”. If two or more players have the same high card then the second card is compared to see which one is higher. If that’s the same, then the third and so on.

9. Pair
A pair is two cards with the same index, three other unrelated cards make up the rest of the hand. If two or more players have the same pair then the highest unrelated card wins. If that is the same it’s the next highest card. Then finally the winner will be the player with the highest low card.

8. Two Pairs
Two pairs are when you have two different pair in the one hand. For example 2-2-10-10-A is a hand with two pairs, the two pairs are of different index otherwise you would have four of a kind, there is one card left over and this makes up the five. If two or more players have two pairs then it is the highest pair that wins. If this pair is the same then the highest second pair wins. And if that pair is the same then it is the highest fifth card that wins.

7. Three of a Kind
Three cards of the same index plus two other cards. This is also called “trips”. If two or more players have trips then the hand with the highest trips wins if the trips are the same then the highest card of the remaining two wins. If that is the same then the highest fifth card wins.

6. Straight
Five cards of mixed suits in sequence for example 4- 5- 6- 7- 8. If two or more players have a straight then the player with the highest top card wins. An ace can count high or low in a straight, but you can’t go over the top. So 10-J-Q-K-A and A-2-3-4-5 are straights, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.
